Health Services

1.       HIV/AIDS pretest counseling, testing, post test counseling, social services, community outreach and education.

2.       Substance Abuse outreach, education, counseling, treatment and follow up.

3.       Health Navigation for Elders assists community elders with health concerns, food, medication, benefits, transportation, etc.

4.       Coconut Grove Girls Group provides counseling education and empowerment activities in a prevention-focused program aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty and its repercussions.

       All of these programs have the following component:

·          Outreach to community through street work, home visits and interaction with community groups and churches.  University of Miami nursing students are matched with community residents.

·          Facilities for showering and clothing bank on site.

·          Counseling for individuals, groups and families provided by the University of Miami Institute for Individual and Family Counseling and NOVA Mental Health counseling interns.

·          Case Management assessments, advocacy, procurement of benefits and services, information and referrals.

·          Collaboration among agencies, local churches and organizations.

·          Volunteer opportunities for persons in recovery and other community residents, providing supportive services to the agency and community.
